Homemade Play Dough Recipe

  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • Optional: Kool-Aid packet(s), Jell-O, or food coloring for different colors and scent

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar.
  2. Stir in the vegetable oil and water. If using only one color, add it now.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until it forms a doughy ball.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  5. Knead the dough on a clean surface until smooth.
  6. Store in an airtight container or these reusable silicone storage bags to keep it soft for weeks (more like months!).
