Easy Valentine’s Treats to Make with Your Kids

Chocolate-Dipped Pretzel Rods with Sprinkles:

  • Ingredients:
    • Pretzel rods
    • Chocolate chips (dark, milk, or white chocolate)
    • Assorted Valentine’s sprinkles
  • Instructions:
    1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring at 30-second intervals until smooth.
    3. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s coated evenly. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
    4. Hold the chocolate-coated pretzel over the bowl and place sprinkles over it before the chocolate sets.
    5. Set the decorated pretzel rod on the prepared baking sheet to cool and harden.
    6. Repeat the process with the remaining pretzel rods.
    7. Once the chocolate has completely set, you can also drizzle a contrasting color of melted chocolate over the rods for an extra touch.

Chex Mix:

  • Ingredients:
    • 3 cups of your child’s favorite cereal
    • 1 cup pretzel sticks
    • 1 cup M&M’s (red and pink if available)
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Instructions:
    1. In a large bowl, combine cereal, pretzel sticks, and M&M’s.
    2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil.
    3. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and pour the mixture over the Chex mix.
    4. Gently toss until the cereal mix is evenly coated. Spread it onto a lined baking sheet to cool and set.

Valentine’s Day Popcorn:

  • Ingredients:
    • 8 cups popped popcorn
    • 1 cup white chocolate chips
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • Valentine Sprinkles
    • Food coloring (optional)
  • Instructions:
    1. Place popped popcorn in a large bowl.

    • Marshmallows, mini donut holes, angel food cake, etc.
    • Skewers
  • Instructions:
    1. Wash and prepare the fruits.
    2. Thread fruit and treats onto skewers, creating colorful and festive fruit kabobs.
    3. Serve them as is or dip the fruit kabobs in melted chocolate for an extra special treat.
