Fawn Creek Winery
3619 13th Ave, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
Opening in 2011, Fawn Creek Winery is a family affair, currently owned by three siblings and their spouses.
Fun fact: One of the sisters actually lived in the house that still stands on the grounds. She had the initial idea that blossomed into the reality of Fawn Creek Winery as we know it now.
What once was one building, Fawn Creek has now expanded to three separate structures, featuring three decks and six tasting bars. Nestled in the serene forests of Dell Prairie, Fawn Creek is not just a tranquil winery but transforms into the premier music venue in Southwest Wisconsin on weekends! Awarded the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) People’s Choice Live Music Venue four times in six years, their summer weekends are a testament to why.
Virtually all of Fawn Creek’s wines originate from grapes harvested in the sun-kissed vineyards of Lodi, California. However, the magic happens on-site where they are carefully fermented, crafted, and bottled. Beyond the traditional semi-dry table reds and semi-sweet to sweet table whites, they have discovered a special niche in crafting fruit-flavored wines. Try the refreshing Granny’s Gold—a Granny Smith-apple-flavored Riesling, or the delightful Razz Prairie—a raspberry-flavored Pinot Noir.
Fawn Creek Vineyard thrives with the unique profiles of Frontenac, Swenson White, and Prairie Star grapes. Unlike many well-known varietals, these grapes are well-suited to the mid-western climate and shorter growing seasons. Although recent years brought challenges from Mother Nature, past harvests have been abundant. Join in on a journey of taste and discover the distinctive flavors that make Fawn Creek Vineyard truly exceptional.
Beyond the great wines: Explore the vineyard, enjoy the nine-hole disc golf course, peruse the gift shop filled with an eclectic mix of gifts & home decor, and engage in a variety of yard games scattered around this family-owned winery. Dogs are welcome at the winery, but to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, they ask that you keep them in the grassy areas only.
Remember Fawn Creek Winery for your upcoming events. The facilities are available for rent – Large pavilion (partial or full), large picnic pavilion, and, now available via VRBO, the winery house rental (sleeps 6). The perfect home rental for your Wisconsin Dells vacation!

Balanced Rock Winery
1065 Walnut Street, Baraboo, WI 53913
In 2015, the vision to create a distinctive winery experience in the heart of Baraboo took root. A husband and wife duo’s quest for an ideal location, blessed with the right soil, sun exposure, and temperatures conducive to grape cultivation, spanned several years. The surprising discovery of a fitting site within the city limits, nestled in the remnants of a former industrial park project, marked the beginning of this winemaking journey.
Previously a cornfield, soybean field, and driving range, the newly acquired land became the canvas for their dream. The transformation commenced with the purchase, leading to an intricate process of converting the site into a 6000 sqft wine production facility and a welcoming tasting room. The journey from an industrial past to a flourishing winery was underway. The couple faced a delay in starting their vineyard, leading them to collaborate with local Wisconsin grape growers to acquire cold-climate grape varieties for their inaugural vintage. Looking ahead, their vision includes establishing a fully operational 7-acre vineyard featuring St. Pepin, Brianna, Frontenac, Petite Pearl, and Marquette grape varietals in the coming years.
Beyond the great wines: You will often find live music and other fun events happening at Balanced Rock, as well as a delicious menu serving the most beautiful charcuterie boards you’ve ever seen, pizzas, soft pretzels, and more. Uniquely, they have an on-site driving range open spring-fall for golfers of all skill levels.
Wollersheim Winery & Distillery
7876 WI-188, Prairie du Sac, WI 53578
Wollersheim Winery, located in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, is a historic and renowned winery known for its picture perfect setting along the Wisconsin River. Established in the mid-19th century, the winery has a rich heritage of winemaking. Wollersheim is celebrated for producing a diverse range of wines, including traditional grape varieties and unique, cold-hardy grapes that thrive in the Wisconsin climate. The winery offers guided tours, tastings, and a charming vineyard setting for visitors to explore. With a commitment to quality and sustainability, Wollersheim Winery stands as a prominent destination in the Wisconsin wine scene.
In addition to the winery, Wollersheim Distillery was built on-site in 2015. In the same fashion as the winery, the distillery is committed to fermenting all products on-site.
The art of distilling at Wollersheim Winery is far from a recent venture; it’s deeply woven into the winery’s historical fabric. Back in the late 1800s, Jacob Kehl, son of the builder of the iconic winery, Peter Kehl, pioneered brandy production alongside wine-making. The brandy served a dual purpose, fortifying the wine akin to Port wines, acting as a natural preservative, facilitating shipments as far as Maine.
Fast forward to the 1980s, when Wollersheim Winery’s visionary founder, Bob Wollersheim, and his son-in-law, the winemaker Philippe Coquard, envisioned reviving brandy distillation on the premises. Unfortunately, post-Prohibition regulations prohibited Wisconsin wineries from distilling, putting the brandy dream on hold.
The turning point came in 2009 when state laws evolved to permit wineries to resume distillation. Seizing the opportunity, the winery acquired a copper pot still, and before long, Coquard Brandy was born, rekindling the age-old tradition of distilling on the property. Brandy, with its rich heritage, became the inaugural distilled product at Wollersheim, marking a significant milestone in the winery’s journey.
