“Nurturing Futures Together” in Sauk County, WI (2024)
Nurturing Futures Together
“Nurturing Futures Together” is an event happening this February (2024) in Baraboo, WI. The event is being put on by the Sauk County Family Resource Center and I spoke with Larisa Basamac, Parent Educator Supervisor at the Center, to get all the details.
What is the Sauk County Family Resource Center?
The Sauk County Family Resource Center serves as a vital hub for families in Sauk County, offering a wide range of support services and resources aimed at enhancing the well-being and stability of families. From parenting classes to access to a lending library (books and toys), the center strives to empower families to thrive and overcome challenges they may face.

They provide free, weekly playgroups opened to the community, where parents and children socialize and take part in age-appropriate learning activities. Additionally, they have a telephone support “Warm Line” (parents can call the Center staff and discuss child and family issues in a confidential setting) and information on housing assistance programs.
Their mission is to foster a nurturing environment where families feel supported, valued, and equipped with the tools they need to build a brighter future. The Sauk County Family Resource Center is part of Renewal Unlimited, which serves multiple counties in the area.

When you arrive, there will be tables set up in the playroom filled with toys, clothes, and books. It’s a no-judgement zone, where you’re trusted to take what your family needs. The aim? Creating a supportive environment where every family feels empowered to access what they need.
