Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips
While Halloween is all about fun, it’s important to keep safety in mind to ensure a spooktacular night. Here are a few tips to help keep your family safe:
- Stay visible: Equip kids with glow sticks or reflective tape on their costumes to make sure they’re easily seen.
- Stick together: Always trick-or-treat in groups, and make sure younger children are with a trusted adult.
- Check candy before eating: Once you’re home, sort through your child’s candy and check for any open or unwrapped items before letting them dig in.
- Stay on the sidewalk: Remind kids to use sidewalks when possible. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic and stay as close to the curb as you can.
More Fall Fun
Looking for more fall family fun? Whether you want to pick a pumpkin, grab some caramel apples, brave a haunted house, or hop on a pumpkin train ride, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the season around Sauk County.
Pumpkin Patches: Head out to one of the local pumpkin farms to pick the best pumpkin you find. From corn mazes to hayrides, these patches offer a great time for the whole family.
Apple Orchards: Enjoy the crisp fall air while picking fresh apples straight from the orchard. Many local orchards also offer additional activities like cider tastings, farm animal encounters, and wagon rides.
Pumpkin Train Rides: This is the perfect fall activity if you have a little one that enjoys trains. Hop on a pumpkin train ride and see the enjoyment in their face.
No matter where you’re heading out for trick-or-treating this year, make sure you plan ahead to maximize your fun!
