Hill & Valley Exploration – Annual Tour of Rural Life
The Hill and Valley Exploration Tour in Wisconsin is an annual celebration of rural living and the rich agricultural heritage of the Driftless Area, spanning Sauk and Richland Counties. This self-guided tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the scenic countryside while visiting rural farms, artists, and small businesses. Along the way, you’ll experience local food, crafts, farm tours, and hands-on activities that showcase sustainable farming practices and the charm of rural living.
What started as simple conversations between neighbors has grown into an annual tradition, now in its 8th year as of 2024. The tour takes place over the last two full weekends in September.
It’s a perfect time to support local farmers, enjoy some country fun, take in the fall colors, and bring home fresh, local products. The cover photo, featuring gorgeous mums from Country Roots Corn Maze and Market, is just a glimpse of the beautiful items you’ll find along the tour. You can check out the interactive map of venues here as well as their hours of operation.
