Seven Acre Dairy Company—A Restored Creamery Boutique Hotel Near Madison, WI
Seven Acre Dairy Company hosted us for an overnight so we could experience what they offer and share it here. As always, everything you read is based on our honest experience.
Our First Impression of Seven Acre Dairy
We spent a night at Seven Acre Dairy Company, a beautifully restored 1800s creamery just outside Madison, Wisconsin, and it was such a memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming front desk staff made it feel special.
Our room was stunning with vaulted ceilings, two TVs, & big windows overlooking Sugar River and the live music scene happening across the water. Fresh-baked cookies were waiting for us when we arrived (a very solid start), and we quickly learned we could bring the ceramic mugs from our room to the café for free refills of Rusty Dog Coffee. That was the perfect start to a relaxing getaway.

Dining at Little Cloud Restaurant
We started our evening by checking out a few cute shops in Paoli and listening to live music at The Mill Paoli. For dinner, we had the ‘Date Night Special’ at Little Cloud which is Seven Acre’s restaurant. The special is two entrees plus a sampling of Landmark Creamery cheeses & butter (The Dairy Experience) and it was delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully made.
Seven Acre’s Unique Amenities & Scenic Setting
Seven Acre features a restaurant and bar, a casual café, a boutique hotel, and event & meeting space for gatherings from 8 to 200. They also have a micro-dairy plant producing their own butter and soft-serve ice cream, plus seven acres of restored oak savanna, manicured gardens, and private lawns all bounded by the meandering Sugar River and surrounding dairy farms.

Supporting Local Farmers and Wisconsin’s Dairy Heritage
Their commitment to supporting local farmers shines through. Cheese, meats, and veggies are sourced locally whenever possible, and the butter is made right there on site, just as it was decades ago. Staying at Seven Acre feels like stepping into a celebration of Wisconsin’s dairy heritage and the hardworking families who’ve carried that tradition for generations.
This would be such a great spot to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or any meaningful milestone. We truly loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel near Madison with history, charm, and incredible food, Seven Acre Dairy Co. is absolutely worth the trip.
