Talented Artists

Over the course of three days, you’ll have the opportunity to watch painters, sculptors, potters, weavers, jewelers, woodworkers, and more demonstrate their craft in their own studios. Many of these studios open to the public only during this event, making it an exclusive chance to meet the artists and purchase one-of-a-kind pieces directly from them.

One of the best parts of the Farm Art DTour is discovering just how much creativity exists right here in our own backyard. From our neighbors & friends to familiar faces from around town. Here are three incredible local artists I’m lucky enough to know personally:

Anne Horjus

One such artist you might want to keep an eye out for is Anne Horjus. Anne grew up near the Wadden Sea in Friesland, Netherlands, where the coastal scenery sparked his love for art. With a background in classical singing and visual arts, Anne has illustrated children’s books in both Europe and the U.S.

Anne’s diverse work includes portraits, murals, and woodcarvings, and he’s known for combining his artistic talents in engaging performances. Anne also spent 16 years coordinating children’s library programs and continues to lead workshops about programming for other librarians of our own South central system and other library systems in Wisconsin.

Kyle Martin

Kyle Martin Rock Springs

Kyle Martin is another incredible artist to check out during the Fall Art Tour. His work, created outdoors focuses on capturing the way light interacts with the landscape. Whether it’s the soft morning light or the golden glow of sunset, he uses bold color and dynamic brushwork to convey the ever-changing atmosphere.

His passion for painting has taken him cross the world—from France to Italy, and even Taliesin—Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic estate—where he spent two months painting during its centennial celebration.

Chicken coop art

Throughout the tour weekend, you’ll have the chance to watch Kyle demonstrate his technique at his Chicken Coop Studio, a space on his family’s 100-year-old farm in Rock Springs. It’s a great opportunity to see his process firsthand and appreciate how he captures the essence of our region through his paintings.

Tim Znidarsich

Tim Fall Art Tour Baraboo

Another talented artist featured on the tour is Tim Znidarsich. Working primarily in traditional relief woodcut and intaglio printmaking, Tim’s pieces showcase his deep appreciation for nature, intricate line work, and the world around us.

His artwork often explores two contrasting themes – the serene beauty of trees, landscapes, and organic textures, and the more mysterious side of imagination, featuring peculiar creatures and curious, almost dreamlike scenes.

Each piece is incredibly detailed, reflecting Tim’s remarkable patience and love for the structured, process-driven nature of printmaking. His intricate style is influenced by one of his artistic heroes, Albrecht Dürer, whose precision and texture continue to inspire Tim’s own work.

Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, Tim graduated from UW–La Crosse in 2011 and is now in his 14th year of teaching. He shares his passion for art from drawing and painting to printmaking with students at Baraboo High School, where he helps inspire the next generation of creatives. Tim lives in Baraboo with his wife and two young sons, balancing his life as both an educator and a working artist rooted in the community.

It’s a truly unique event you won’t want to miss! While you’re on the tour, be sure to check out these apple orchards and pumpkin patches along the way for a full fall-fun weekend!
